TRUMP DERANGEMENT // DELUSION SYNDROME
First strain.
With "Trump Derangement Syndrome' it does not matter what he does, he must be evil. One must cast the action only in the worst light even if consistent with those positions you have previously held to.
This virus has taken hold in much of the left leaning side of politics and western societies.
However, unfortunately a new strain of TDS has started to spread like wildfire.
With different but important symptoms, 'Trump Delusion Syndrome' leads to a constant justification of anything Trump does, so let me mainly focus on that.
Those with it sound like this..
"When did he sin? That was like ten years ago."
They intentionally ignore or justify self idolatry, lying and swindling from the last couple weeks.
or
"You have to understand, Trump is playing 3D chess when everyone is playing 2D"
or what about this one...
"The Bible says all authority is given by God, you can't love the word and opposed Donald"
Evidently, these people have never read the Prophets or watched Jesus call out the authorities. I suspect they don't actually read the Bible at all, sort of like Trump, who 'likes it all'.
Or what about this one.
"Do you judge all the others leaders the same, no one is perfect"
This is normally in response to actually judging CHRISTIAN'S as we are told to do in 1 Cor 5. When a Christian, no matter their position is a lying, swindling, bully, the response of the Church should be to 'not even eat with them' (1 Cor 5: 11) let alone fawn at their feet.
I apply the same judgement on Biden, because he claims to be a believer, he should be removed from all Christian community and no Christian should even eat with him.
I know, some that read this are dying to make excuses and in essence argue with the Bible. Find some exception for Trump. Be careful you may have the second strain of TDS.
So how do we know whether we have TDS?
One form cannot admit any good doing, the other form any wrong doing.
Both are connected forms of TDS.
Remember, the right has constantly called out the "group think" on the left, and yet, so many are exactly the same on the political right.
They are actually mirrors of each other.
Unfortunately those with either form of TDS usually only think the other has it.
HOW DO YOU KNOW IF YOU HAVE TDS?
LEFT STRAIN - nothing Trump does can be good. You justify his good as bad all the time.
RIGHT STRAIN - nothing Trump does can be bad. You justify his bad as good all the time.
